UK’s production win at Sigep Bread Cup

first_imgThe UK team has won the Production Award at the International Sigep Bread Cup, for the second year in a row.The contest, which took place at the Sigep exhibition in Rimini, Italy this week (21-25 January), saw David Mizon, managing director of and general secretary of the ABST, Matthew May of Odlums, Doug Beaney of Montana Bakeries and Rebecca Thompson of University College Birmingham, triumphant in the production class.The Production Award is given to the team that made the most products each day of the four-day competition, within a five-hour period.The team was invited to visit a few bakeries in Rimini and Bologna following the competition, and will return via the Gustar School in Tuscany, where it is to spend a day working with master craftsman David Bedu, said Mizon before the event.last_img read more

Duterte to grace 40th MassKara Festival

Last week, Leonardia met with the ChiefExecutive in Davao City during the 69th National Executive Board Meeting of theLeague of Cities of the Philippines (LCP). Leonardia, national president of LCP,said that when he asked Duterte if he can attend the festival once again, thePresident did not hesitate to say yes. In 2016, Duterte was the first-everpresident to have graced the opening of the MassKara Festival during its 37thedition on Oct. 2. The following year, Duterte attendedthe festival highlights on October 22. BACOLOD City – President Rodrigo Duterte will be the guest of honorduring the 40th MassKara Festival.  The highlights will start on Oct. 24and 25, featuring the Electric MassKara parades. “Without batting an eyelash, he said:Yes, I’m going to show my support for you,” the mayor said. “This only meansthat Bacolod is very special to him.” “As our top tourism icon, this nowinternationally-acclaimed festival is a showcase of our people’s unity and asymbol of the dynamism of the city. The Ruby MassKara celebration, themed“Bacolod, City of Smiles”, will formally open on the night of Oct. 7 at thepublic plaza. This was announced by Mayor EvelioLeonardia yesterday, saying the President is expected to arrive anytime duringthe festivity slated from Oct. 7 to 27.
