LACEY AND McELHINNEY NAMED IN DONEGAL’S STARTING LINE-UP

first_imgKarl Lacy is back in Donegal’s stating line-up.Karl Lacey and Martin McElhinney have ben drafted back into the starting line-up for Donegal’s All-Ireland quarter-final clash with Mayo on Saturday evening.2012 Footballer of the Year Lacey, who had been struggling with a knee injury, returns after missing last weekend’s victory over Galway.McElhinney, who came on as a sub at half-time in that game, will line out alongside Neil Gallagher in midfield. St Eunans’ Eamonn Doherty and Hugh McFadden drop out of the starting line-up.Paddy McBrearty, Michael Murphy and Colm McFadden are also named in the starting line-up. The trio are named in the full-forward line but it remains to be seen how they will line out.Glenswilly’s Murphy has been deployed in several different positions by Donegal manager Rory Gallagher but there is speculation that he could play on the edge of the square to take advantage of Mayo’s perceived weakness at full-back.McBrearty retains his place despite some wayward shooting against Galway with McFadden also named to start.
