first_imgRishabh Pant’s photo with Tim Paine’s kids shared by the Australian captain’s wife, Bonnie Paine is certainly winning the internet on the New Year’s Day.After a week of intense on-field action in Melbourne, members of India and Australia cricket teams found some time to unwind on the New Year’s Day and its eve in Sydney. Captain Tim Paine and his Indian counterpart Virat Kohli along with their teammates were spotted at the party hosted by Australia Prime Minister Scott Morrison.Tim Paine’s wife, who had accompanied her husband to the party, shared a photograph of Rishabh Pant with her kids and captioned it: “Best babysitter”.The photograph has gone viral on social media as it comes after some intense on-field banter between Paine and Pant in the ongoing four-Test series. The Australia skipper had asked Pant if he was willing to babysit for him during the third day of the Boxing Day Test after chirping at him using some MS Dhoni references.”Tell you what big MS is back in the one-day squad. Should get this bloke down to Hurricanes… They need a batter,” Paine was heard saying from behind the stumps on December 28, 2018.”Fancy that extend you Aussie holiday, beautiful town Hobart too… get him a waterfront apartment,”Have him over for dinner. Do you babysit? I can take my wife to the movies while you watch the kids.”Best thing I have seen all year lol. But seriously, this will be hard to top. Adorable kids and wife, and great guys all round. Love it. I’ve fallen in love with cricket again.advertisementJ Roe (@JRoe42180297) January 1, 2019When they finish their playing careers it’s moment like these that will remain forever. The taunting can happen on the field with in the boundaries once outside there should be only mutual respect and love. Mama (@SriniMaama16) January 1, 2019Lovely picture that speaks so much. This is the kind of bonhomie we would like to see between the teams off the pitch, even when they compete hard on the pitch. The hosts went on to lost the Boxing Day Test by 137 runs and conceded an unassailable 2-1 lead to Virat Kohli’s Team India.”We have got a special guest here. Have you heard the word temporary captain ever. You [Jadeja] don’t need anything to get him out. Come on lads,” Pant said as he was keeping wickets to Ravindra Jadeja.”He loves to talk, that’s the only thing he can do. Only talking talking.”The banter started during the MCG Test when Tim Paine tried to needle Rohit Sharma in the first innings, saying he would pledge allegiance to Mumbai Indians if their skipper hit a six during his knock. Rohit did not fall for the trap as he scored a half-century without hitting a maximum.Rohit had hit back, saying he would buy Paine for Mumbai Indians if the latter hits a century during the MCG Test. As Paine failed to go past 30, let alone reaching the three-figure mark in both the innings, Mumbai Indians took to Twitter and joined the banter.advertisementExpect more such banters as Australia will be battling to avoid their first-ever series defeat against India at home when the two sides met in Sydney for the fourth and final Test of the series. Also Read | The Pant and Paine show at MCG: When light-hearted banter turned offensiveAlso Read | Pant’s banter with Lyon caught on stump mic: “You don’t want to come tomorrow for nothing”Also See:last_img
